Philanthropic Idling

Technology and philanthropy are often intertwined these days, whether it’s about getting your Facebook friends to donate to a cause, empowering people to be microfinanciers for projects around the globe, or donating laptops and cell phones to the developing world. Even your idle computer can be philanthropic: all you have to do is link it up to the World Community Grid and donate its computing power to research projects that benefit humanity.
